The Goals.

My location: Schooner Room in the Union.
My original purpose for being at the Union: To hang out with Sandie Sabin, and study.

I was distracted with the fact that I have not yet made my goals, so I decided to take a study break.

I've decided to come up with 5 goals for this semester. They may be silly, but they are my goals nonetheless.
1. Read the space trilogy series by C.S. Lewis, "Out of the Silent Planet".
2. Successfully do a bridge/backwards walkover.
3. Watch a documentary, a musical, a classical movie, and something historical.
4. Spend the night in the Union. (Is this safe?)
5. Volunteer somewhere on a regular basis.

Optional other goals:
*Go skydiving.
*Take more pictures to document my junior year.

And now, back to studying.

Blog.

I feel rather strange blogging. I've always thought about it but never actually thought I would do it. It seems intimidating to think that anyone could read my thoughts, then again, I put them here by choice. Now I feel as if I must present myself in a certain way. I am prone to write ideas/stories/blogs in order to assist your mind in constructing a "blogger" Megan.

I was really tempted to start reading experienced bloggers blogs to see an example of how to do this. That is not my goal, though. I do not want (or need) another thing to compare myself to others in.

This blog was inspired by the question: "What is something you've always wanted to do that you've never done?" Now, blogging was not the first thought that came into my mind. My first thoughts were to go skydiving or learn how to play the piano. I am unsure of the skydiving, and afraid of not being able to learn to play the piano due to time constraints...Yes, I realize that taking time to do something is usually required to do it well, it's just this semester seems busy. All this to say, I'm going to use this blog to talk about the answer to that question.

I chose the title beginnings & ends because I'm hoping to not only have a fun list of goals this semester, but to actually go through the list and finish them. Beginnings & ends. I'm intimidated with the idea of setting goals. I've had a strange experience in my past with setting goals, most of them having to do with self improvement things. They never seemed to last, so I'm hesitant to make them. This blog will record my journey through my second semester of my junior year at OU, and probably continue on. These goals should be attainable within the time frame of a semester.

Here's to setting goals, and finishing them.
